Discovering Sound
I am a 58 year old gentleman, who, after many years of construction noise and loud music, slowly ruined my hearing. Now I am happy to report Dr. Maria Wynens has helped me re-discover the sounds of crickets and birds everywhere, and she has re-introduced me to the wonderful world of hearing.
Now I can go to a noisy restaurant, meeting, movie, or just watch TV, and hear and understand everything. Background noise does not matter or bother me. After a very short breaking-in period I now wear them every waking hour. An easy volume control switch lets me adapt to any situation. These hearing devices, although complex in their technology, are simple for me to use. They are unobtrusive and have truly changed my life. The words … “what?” and “huh?” have virtually disappeared from my vocabulary.

Hearing is Believing!!
I am a 40 year old professional, who lost over 50% hearing in my right ear due to an automobile accident several years ago. Unfortunately, I was too vain to even consider a traditional hearing aid – that is, until I found hearing devices from Dr. Maria Wynens. I contacted 3 or 4 other offices in the Atlanta area for information on a new (super small) device, and Dr. Wynens was THE only one that returned my call. Needless, to say, she has not only earned my trust and respect, she also has a customer for life! Upon my 1st visit, she made me feel very comfortable, expressed a sincere interest in my situation, and was very empathetic to my hearing loss. She was very patient, knowledgeable, and an overall joy to work with. I’ve now been fitted with my new hearing device, which is SOOO small, it’s basically invisible! Its amazing how something so small in size can be so powerful, and allow you to enjoy all the sounds that life has to offer! Its time to start living – and hearing again! Excellent Guidance!
During the past eighteen years I have used hearing devices in both ears. They have been a definite help to me during conversations with one or two people in quiet environments. However, my hearing problems in situations within noisy backgrounds or larger groups of people had become more serious. I started avoiding family gatherings or dinners in restaurants, especially on Friday or Saturday nights. A few weeks ago, I heard about you and made an appointment. You introduced me to new hearing aids. The fact that right and left devices communicated and worked together (wireless operation) got my attention. Under your guidance, I did try the devices and did like the constant clarity of what I was hearing. I did purchase the devices.
Since then, I have tested the devices late at night in, jam full, extremely noisy restaurants. There were five of us around our table and despite the terrible background noise, I was able to follow and participate in our conversations. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend you Dr. Wynens!

What Makes Dr. Wynens Different…
I’ve worn hearing aids since my mid-twenties, and since then I’ve had five pairs of hearing aids prescribed by several different audiologists. What makes Dr. Wynens different than my previous audiologists is the fact that Dr. Wynens has never rushed. She wanted to know my likes and dislikes of my current pair of hearing devices, as well as, what I wanted from the new ones. She knew I was interested in the latest technology but wasn’t interested in selling all the bells and whistles.
Dr. Wynens has made coming back for adjustments easy. And most important, to me, she always takes the time to answer my questions even if they were repeaters and never make me feel rushed. This was amazing to me because I had been to a large hearing aid group before, and I had the feeling they had decided what they were going to sell me before I even sat down and they were going to do it in under an hour.
Also, my husband was very impressed with her business accounting area. They were fast, efficient and worked well both with us and our insurance company.

The use of firearms through the years has greatly diminished my hearing. It was only after family members pointed out how much I was missing that I finally acknowledged that I needed hearing aids. I did some research on the internet and went to a seminar on hearing aids and discovered the latest technology. I contacted several audiologists but it was only after I talked with Dr. Maria Wynens that I got satisfactory answers to my many questions. When I first met Dr. Wynens, I felt I had known her all my life. She put me totally at ease as we discussed and reviewed my hearing impairments. I already knew what type of aids I wanted based on my research and Dr. Wynens agreed with my assessment after reviewing my hearing test. Dr. Wynens fitted me with a pair of hearing aids and they are unbelievable. The old type hearing aids amplified all sound including background noise. The new ones provide directional hearing which minimizes background noise and provides for sharper hearing. If you have a hearing problem, it will be your loss if you don’t visit Dr. Wynens, at the Atlanta Hearing Doctor, and let her fit you with hearing aids that meet your needs. My only regret is that I didn’t get my aids sooner. I now hear things that I forgot existed. It’s a “New World.”

More Confident

I recently met with Dr. Wynens after being referred by my physician, Dr. Kirk Paulk, about a ear problem I was experiencing. First let my say that I didn’t even wait 5 minutes before Dr. Wynens personally greeted me and took me to the examination room. Husband and Wife Hearing Aids
Having tried unsuccessfully for over the last twenty years to find hearing aids that worked well for my type of hearing loss and were also comfortable enough that I could wear them all during my waking hours, I must say that the units prescribed by Dr. Wynens have finally solved the problem. Unfortunately, my wife’s hearing loss, although not as severe as mine, meant that she could no longer understand me as I had stopped speaking so loud. I was referred to Dr. Wynens by my ENT, whom I had been seeing for progressive hearing loss and tinnitus since college.
She clearly explained, based on my hearing test results, why I was having such difficulty with hearing conversation. Like many people, this was particularly a problem in a noisy environment like a restaurant or at a party. She went over the pros and cons of different types of aids and explained why she chose the type she was recommending to me. Finally I found an audiologist who really knows how to make a good-fitting earmold! Dr. Wynens is extremely knowledgeable on many hearing aids and related products. She does not rush through your appointment. Instead she takes time to explain everything to you and to help you to select the hearing aids until you’re satisfied with the choice. Professional and Personal Life Improved
In my both my professional and personal life my hearing deficiency had become a real liability my effectiveness was compromised. In many social and family situations I simply “tuned out” communications because it was simply too difficult to “keep up”. This is something that I had been aware for some time.
